Jeep Survivor Concept Study - For the Man Who Has Everything

Jeep Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
A cross between the Warthog from Halo and the pseudo-militaristic Mercedes-Benz M-Classes from The Lost World: Jurassic Park, is the best description I can come up with for Max Ostap's Jeep:Survivor [sic] concept study for the Art Center College of Design.

An off-road vehicle for the man who considers nature an enemy to be vanquished more than anything else, the Survivor draws its inspiration from the Jeep Bantam of WWII.

It’s difficult to deride this aggressive yet strangely attractive concept. It has a purposeful, muscular stance and its integrated front bull bar, roof mounted spare, factory fitted spotlights and a pickup-like rear tray (for your animals carcasses, presumably) are all clever touches.

It reminds me most of the Jeep Renegade Concept of 2008; a personal favourite of mine.

New Chevrolet Colorado Roughens Up with Double-Cab Rally Concept

Chevrolet Colorado Buenos Aires Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
The Buenos Aires Motorshow is proving to be an important event for GM as after the debut of the Chevrolet Cobalt Concept, the Detroit automaker released the first details on its second design study, the Colorado Rally Concept.

Chevrolet Colorado Buenos Aires Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.usWe first saw the Colorado as single-cab concept truck at the Bangkok International Auto Show earlier this year.

The Argentine study is a double-cab racing version of that concept fitted with a bevy of off-road accessories and components such as the front and rear bumper hooks and tow winches, an adjustable suspension that allows the driver to increase the ride height by 5 inches and special acrylic windows.

The Colorado Rally Concept is powered by a 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine coupled to an all-wheel drive system and rides on massive 18-inch machined aluminum wheels shod in 305/60 R18 tires.

The production version of the all-new Colorado in both single- and double-cab formats is slated to debut later this year.

GM Unveils New Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan Concept at Buenos Aires

Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan Concept at Buenos Aires Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
Here in the good ‘ol US of A, General Motors replaced the Chevrolet Cobalt compact car with the new Cruze sedan. In South America, however, it’s another story as the Detroit brand has given birth to a new Chevy Cobalt that is being revealed in pre-production form at this week’s Buenos Aires Motor Show (June 17 to 26) in Argentina.

Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan Concept at Buenos Aires Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.usDeveloped by General Motors Technical Center in South America, the four-door sedan Cobalt Concept is slated to enter production within the next year. GM’s press blurb doesn’t mention anything about the Cobalt’s underpinnings, but judging from the size of the car, it appears to be based on the Chevy Sonic (Aveo in Europe) saloon.

GM said that the Cobalt will be sold globally offering buyers a choice of four cylinder engines ranging in displacement from 1.3 to 1.8 liters, with automatic and manual transmissions, running on ethanol (flex fuel), gasoline or diesel.

The specific concept model is equipped with an aero kit comprising of front and rear aprons, side skirts and a discreet boot lid spoiler, plus 17-inch alloy wheels in 255/45 R17 rubber and twin exhaust outlets.

The interior has also been upgraded with plush two-tone leather seats, chrome trim, twin sunroof and even an infotainment system with LCD screens integrated into the front headrests.

BMW 1-Series Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
The all-new BMW 1-Series five-door hatchback has only just been announced, yet bimmer enthusiasts are already dreaming up the car’s future lineup. Some of the more talented individuals went one step further drawing up renderings of the Coupe and Convertible models, which as we recently reported, may or may not carry the 2-Series sticker as part of broader change in names, and even a three-door hatchback with the famed M badge.

Follow the break to check out the creative work of the members of Bimmerpost and leave your thoughts below.

Coffee and Cars: Eric Leong’s Saab Nespresso Concept

SAAB Seen On www.coolpicturegallery.us
Industrial design student Eric Leong, who we first heard about with the 2015 Toyota Prius study, has taken two famous brands, Sweden’s Saab and Switzerland’s NestlĂ© and melded them. The result is the Saab Nespresso Concept, a four-seat sport coupe with some clever design touches. Outwardly it looks like a cross between the 2008 Saab 9-X Air BioHybrid Concept and Toyota’s FT-86 Concept of 2009, but it’s on the detail side of things were Leong’s idea really shines.

There are two slide-out storage “buckets” in place of a boot and two shallow, lidded trays for miscellaneous items. There’s also a handy pickup-like rear tray for more bulky items and solar panels on the roof and wheels that use back projection so owner’s can change the colour and style of their faux-alloys.

Sadly, the Saab Nespresso Concept doesn’t appear to dispense coffee. Nor is there any information on its powerplant or performance. Still, you can check out our full gallery and / or leave a comment below.
