I did extended for my in-laws when they entered last time to US. When they entered next time they entered without any issues.
Last time time also lot of my friends scared me (immigration people will stop them at the port of entry), my another friend (both husband and wife doctors), they bring there in - laws everytime they will extend it to 3 times approxmately they will stay in US 2 years, they left several times and entered into US without any issues.
I think in your case you have been lucky and may have given complelling reason, but otherwise the odds are that the next time around entry may be refused or a shortened stay. I have seen from numerous cases, 7 out of 10 cases were rejected or shortened stay. As one of the posters put it , it is at the discretion of IO at POE next time you visit. This is high risk when u put the things into perspective in longer run

I'm currently on H1 visa (stamped) which is valid thru August 09. I'm going outside of US and entering back in mid May. When I enter, I'll have 3 months left on my visa. Do you think there could be any problem with just a few month remaining on my visa? Do you know if there is a requirement such as you need to have at least "x" number of months remaining on your visa to enter? I do have H1 extension I-797 approval notice valid from Aug 2009 thru Aug 2012, but not stamped in the passport.
Anyone went thru a similar situation? was there any problem or extra questions asked at the POE?

Should not be an issue. Dont forget to give the approval notice to the IO. Otherwise you will be given only till Aug 2009.

if you have your I-140 approved then you should be ok, provided your earned more than the prevailing wage for that year.
Even if you have I-140 approved, if the salary at the time you filed I-485 was less than the prevailing wage, they will examine again the company's ability to pay.
My I-140 was approved in 2006 and back then my salary was enough to prove the company's ability to pay. However, I got a NOID in my I-485 and the officer is asking to prove ability to pay again.

My lawyer sent my I-485 to Vermont instead of Nebraska. I don't know what to do now. I am in lot of stress.
Can I send another application before Aug 17th. I have not got rejection on first one. Will this confuse USCIS?

As previously mentioned in this forum, a year back (almost) when my visa stamping had not expired I had approached the MD MVA for my license. Due to a last/first name issue in my passport they declined the DL. Now after going through the name change process in US and India and getting the court order, I re-approached the MVA. After multiple levels of screening and approvals taking full 4 hrs, finally I got my 5 year license this Thursday.
MD license rules changed and there was lack of clarity for everybody some weeks back. Now there seems to be better clarity. Having SSN and i-94 is important as I felt.
If some one is in the same boat, I hope this info helped.

I know lot of people are waiting. But just want to tell you all the INS is moving forward may be slow. I just received my receipt notices today. My application reached INS on July second at 11:25 am. My checks have also been cashed.

Yes, my I140 WILL be revoked. I'm on good terms with my previous employer and this is just something they will be doing to protect their interests.
This is a new strategy followed by consulting companies. As they cannot stop people from leaving, they would like to discourage this by revoking 140. there are so many scared people out there who want to play it very very safe and will avoid invoking ac21 if they think there could be issues.

1. You can ask them for H1 transfer and AC21 portability of your existing EB3 GC Process.
2. You can also ask them for doing EB2 processing, some employers have policy that they will do it after 6-12 months but you should do it before joining so that they can analyze if position suits EB2 needs.
And both of the above should be done before joining a new employer because before joining you are in better bargaining position provided you rocked the interviews.

How will you get the papers signed without them being here? You also need recent passport size photos of them as well for AP document.
You can differ filing EAD and AP at a later date.
