They have too few people to do the job. When your app switches to priority processing it gets to another queue. When it is near the end of the 15 days they send an RFE simply because they can't complete it in time. Now they have at least another 15+ days to complete the thing.

Wrong, time spent outside Canada while working for a Canadian company does not automatically counts for PR maintenance (2/5 years). That's for some exception situation like serving in the military etc.

EB3 with PD of July 2006. I-140 Approved. 485 +EAD+AP filed 2 weeks ago.
I was contemplating on job change before dates became current in June and decision to accept 485....
Now that 485 is filed and this DUST has settled, wondering whether all this is worth the wait. (even 180 days).
Currently in my 5th year of H1b, by waiting out the 6 months, I'll also get 3 yr h1b ext. (and hopefully ead by then).
So is waiting 180 days the best choice? or screw all this and change! (I dunno if this AC21 etc etc is practical...same job description etc)
(I am single and those complexities are not to be considered I guess yet.
Plan is to try and change jobs on H1b and use EAD only if there is a dire need like layoff to find another job quicker)

thanks guys for the info. I agree Cathay is probably the best option. I am very skeptical about Air India. Have been hearing negative comments since I was a kid, when my dad a was a frequent overseas business traveller. Things might have changed lately but the bad impressions linger on.
JAL looks promising too.
My mom doesn't need the nozzle-bum-wash as much as she needs to sit on the toilet because she cannot squat due to bad knees. And that is available with every airline I imagine.
I agree though the "bidget" would a plus for some seniors and honestly I think its also cleaner.
In our case, however, we need leg room, wheel chair facility (very imp), veggie indian food (the food on emirates wasn't up to the mark) and decent service.

Overall true, just one clarification... More the number of employees that have applied for a GC, chances of RFE are higher.

For private courier (non usps deliveries) there is different address please see in the Instruction on completing I-765 form on USCIS website.
I send my application via fedex today to following address..

Lincoln, NE 68508-1225
I am not sure of USCIS P.O. Box address, but in general Fedex can't be sent to USPS P.O. Box.

Hi,
First let me thank you all for providing and maintaining such a forum where one can get all the answers related with immigration. This is truly amazing.
I am a july 2007 filer. My priority date in October 2006. My I 140 was approved in January 2007. I was laid off by my original GC sponsoring company in April 2009. Fortunately, I was able to get a new job under same responsibility description, before my last day with the GC sponsoring employer. I had invoked my AC21 on April 10,2009 and had switched job.
I have a AP, valid through January 2011 and a EAD valid through August 2010.
Mu H1B and I 94 has been expired alost an year now. I am working and staying in the country with EAD now with an AOS status.
I need to travel to India to address some urgent family now. Do you think my travel on AP (especially after invoking Ac21) in risky. I will be travelling through JFK. Has anyone travelled through JFK on AP after invoking AC21?
Any information will be highly appreciated.

e) AC21 protability letter from my immegration layer.
f) I 140 support letter from my new employer.

do not worry..its going to be perfectly alright. i travelled thru jfk using my AP after using ac21 twice. infact i only gave my passport, along with new i94 filled up , with a copy of the AP at the port of entry to the officer. no questions asked. just remain calm and answer any questions asked politely. AP is for this exact purpose which helps you to exit and enter country during this excruciating time of 485 approval waiting. so, you are good to go as long as you have a valid AP, infact I travelled once using AP, when I didnt have a job here. all it matters when you reenter is if you have a valid AP/VISA to enter the country.

Thanks for your responses. The hospital staff told us it would take 60-90 days to get the SSN. I am stuck until that arrives because only then can I apply for the passport. Any way to get around it?
Call SS office they may give SS on phone or just go and ask them they will give you the number based on which you can apply for passport.
If you apply PIO in person and pick it up in person It will take around week.

If you can take direct non-stop flight then avoid the transit visa. Sending originals by mail is always risky. Just my advise.

Suppose your job requires only a BS degree and you have a MS, you cannot still apply under EB2. The job should require a MS degree or equivalent if you need to be under EB2.
Honestly I didn't know about this factor when I joined work. I thought I could apply under EB2 since I had a MS degree.
Better that you asked about these options now, rather than finding it out years later when you are about to apply for the final stage.

I filed 485 on July 2 2007 through Company 1. I left the Company 1 on July 7 2007. Company 2 had filed for PERM in June that had an approval on July 16 2007. I wana apply for 140/485 through Company 2 (concurrent filing) by this July 2007. Can I have 2 pending 485 application? I dont have the receipt for 1st 485 as it was just filed on July 2.
