Don't sweat it. I too overlooked this field during my last e-filing in 2008. The date of last arrival field is easy to miss, since it is embedded right under a set of "previous EAD" fields, some of which you would likely leave blank if you don't have too many previous EADs. I simply included this data item on a separate piece of paper with my supporting documentation. I didn't face any delays in my EAD approval...it was approved in a few weeks.
I don't think this is any cause for concern.
I guess USCIS IT department does not have the budget to hire a usability expert to review their e-filing forms. Some of those forms look like "hello world" projects. :)

Thats not true.. A few days back I read on IV forum itself that around 10K were wasted this year too.
Was it reported from AILA or ombudsman or someone making prediction? A few days ago, USCIS issued a report saying that they approved 60k GCs due to the July fiasco. That should cover all available visa numbers for FY 2007.

* AILA has reported that during the period of July, August, and September 2007, Nebraska Service Center and Texas Service Center adjudicated 60,000 plus EB-485 applications. As of now, we have 72 guests and 494 members online. I understand that some of the guests are already members and have just not logged in. If I 539 was filed with I 129 they mostly get approved togther .DId you apply ext in PP ? If I 539 was not filed ,just bump your H1 to PP and get an appointment in home country for the spouse to get the Visa at the consulate. Just plan every thing will go smooth
Yes, I believe they were filed together - I saw a note in their web site. But why would they file 539 ? she is out of country already. Isn't I539 to extend stay only if u are already in the country ? And yes i already got an appointment in chennai. But the twist is, HR says they "informed" the attorneys to do PP. It is already 11 days and no receipt #. HR is tight lipped as to whether attorneys did infact file PP. If they did not, am i screwed ? Dont you need a receipt# atleast to bump up to PP?

I am not sure what it is misdemeanor or felony. I received an arrest warrant mail to report to police station I went and I was fingerprinted/photographed. I was asked to pay the traffic court fine and that is it.
Check this if it's a misdemeanor activity. You can call court in your county, give them yr docket/case number and find it out. Hope this helps.

The best recourse would be to pay the $100 or so and ask a qualified attorney; but from the J-1 cases of friends that I had seen closely here is what I can say:

If by some chance it gets messed up, you HAVE to goback for 2 years, irrespective of the fact that you are a benificiary on your husband's Immigration petition. In fact that was the reason my wife went for a H1 sponsoring hospital.

Thanks for the responses. I was told that i can get extension upon approval of 140 as PD is less than 365 days. So i am looking for alternatives to stay legal until approval of 140.

I am working on H1B. Recently what has happened that my family lives in state A, and I am working in state B. My family could not move to state B because my sone is going to school. I have to pay alot of expenses to go back and fort from state B to A, like air ticket and cab ect. I talking to my compnay regarding this and they said that whatever are my expenses submit to every month end and he will send a check for those expenses which will be pre taxed amount. i.e. if my pre taxed salary is $ 5000 per-month , if I submit expense statemet for $500. Then my employer will send a check of 500 and paystub i.e. direct deposit after applying tax on $4500.
I am not sure whatever he is suggesting is good tyhing to do and it will not have any problem for me.
If you made a correct explanation then: 1. You will end up with $4500- of wages PLUS $500 of reimbursable expenses. Therefore only $4500 will be taxed.
You should to make sure that in your Form W2 ( 1. Wages, tips, other compensation)for 2008 these $500 will not be shown: reason- you will be taxed only on $4500 but your income will be higher so you will may end up with additional taxes owned- that depends on you Income).
That scenario is OK if your total salary is not an issue for you.
For you Employer paying to you $4500 Plus $500( reimbursable) is much better
cause he will pay company taxes only on that $4500 and not on $500.
There could be other ways to resolve this problem. Depends on your employer
willingness.

My honest suggestion. If you already have a technical degree (BE) it is better to go for business degree. Future is great for people with technical and business skills regardless which country you are in.

Glad to see your initiatives. But our focus should be different.
The Economy is in very bad shape. Unemployement is rising. At this moment any bill that ask for GC number increase won't pass. We need to wait for atleast few months.
In the meantime as a temprory releif we should push the "Country quoto elimination bill" that does not increase GC numbers.
Also please take a look at my plan that I presented couple of weeks earlier. It is a compromise bill and I feel it has the best chance to pass during lameduck session. My plan gives at least some releif to people waiting for 7 years or waiting for months with PD current.
Please keep the spirit alive. Thanks.

I do not see why anyone should not travel on Air France or Lufthansa. You are not changing airports at Paris or Frankfort. So there is no requirement for a visa. It seems to be a simple one.

Cant fly through FRANCE/UK for sure, without a valid US visa stamped.
People had issues even with Lufthansa, but as per law on the German Consulate , a person should be able to transit through Germany. But i would avoid it.
Emirates/Direct AI/Continental should be OK from East Coast.

I'm trying to figure out the reasoning behind Mexico's numbers as well. According to the latest cut-off date tables http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/EmploymentDemandUsedForCutOffDates.pdf
Mexico has about 5,800 folks total for EB-3 in the queue so far, but we have seen very little movement in the past years. My questions to the forum:
1) Is the slow movement due to so many cases in field offices not yet reported?
2) Do family-based numbers take away from the 7% of 140K visas a year or are these solely for EB?
3) Any idea why movement is so slow for Mexico given the numbers of people currently in the queue?
Theories are welcome.
